Join us Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m. for an update from Dr. Brian Aukema on emerald <br /> ash borer (EAB) research happening at the University of Minnesota's Forest <br /> Entomology Lab. Followed by Minnesota Department of Agriculture's (MDA) Mark <br /> Abrahamson giving an in-depth look at the increase in wood waste across Minnesota <br /> and some of the potential challenges going forward. Presentations will be 25-30 <br /> minutes each with time for questions after. 1.0 Continuing Education Unit will be <br /> available for ISA Certified Arborists that attend. A <br /> local Department of Natural Resources forester noticed woodpecker damage on <br /> several ash trees in Janesville and alerted the MDA. MDA staff were able to find live <br /> EAB larvae and collect samples. Federal identification confirmed emerald ash borer. <br /> 2 <br />
