CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: December 11, 2024 Administration IX.8 TITLE OF ISSUE: Direct Mailing re: Peltier Ponds Concept Plan (Lino Lakes) BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: At the December 3, 2024 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the Commission discussed a concept plan for Peltier Ponds in Lino Lakes. Since the proposed development is adjacent to jurisdictional boundaries of the city, it is required by state law that the city receive notice of the public hearing and be given an opportunity to submit comments on the proposed development. Administrator Statz drafted a memo with recommendations on the proposal and the Planning Commission motioned to submit the comments to Lino Lakes. These comments have been submitted to Lino Lakes and a copy of Administrator Statz's memo is included in the December 11th council packet (see attached). As part of the aforementioned discussion, the Planning Commission expressed interest in notifying residents via multiple platforms, including direct mailings, about the Peltier Ponds development proposal. Staff is requesting direction on whether to notify residents and if so via which platforms. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: TBD REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Discussion. Provide Staff Direction.
