PARKS & RECREATION <br />Name a Snowplow <br />The Contest is still going on; Clearopathra needs to have a <br />friend who needs a name. Please participate, you must be a <br />Centerville resident and if you name is chosen, you win a $50 <br />prize, a photo with you and the snowplow. The photo will be <br />placed in all of CentervilleÓ media outlets. All Centerville <br />employees, Committee/Commission/Council Members are <br />excluded from receiving the $50 prize but may enter the <br />contest. Click here to enter. <br /> <br />New Furnace at Warming House <br />The warming house at LaMotte Park got a new furnace <br />recently when the old one quit working. <br /> <br />Annual Skate/Sled Night <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee has planned it usual events with <br />the assistance of the Wargo Nature Center; skating, sledding, <br />kicksledding, snowshoeing, bonfire, free popcorn and cocoa on <br />January 10, 2025, from 6-9 p.m. Come on out and join them. That <br />new furnace will come in handy. <br /> <br />Hiring P.T. Î Rink Attendants <br />The city is hiring rink attendants. Attendants are responsible for <br />opening/closing the warming house during their work shift, <br />maintaining cleanliness of the warming house and restrooms, and <br />shoveling of snow from walkways and rinks if minimal amounts are <br />deposited. If you are interested in earning $16.30/hr, working <br />evenings and weekends, click here for an employment packet. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br />Santa Parade <br />The Centennial Fire District Firefighters hosted their Santa Parade on Monday, December 2nd and the Fire <br />Department received $276 in cash, 1,250 lbs. of food and a ton of toys. All donations were taken to the Hugo <br />Food Shelf. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />Holiday Hours <br />Christmas Eve - City Offices Close Early (2 p.m.) <br />Christmas Day - City Offices Closed <br />New Years Day Î City Offices Closed <br /> <br />VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES <br />There are currently vacancies on two city boards and <br />commissions. There is a vacancy on the cityÓs Planning and <br />Zoning Commission (P&Z) and another vacancy on the cityÓs <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA). <br /> <br />The P&Z meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every <br />month at 6:30p.m. at city hall in the council chambers. The <br />EDA meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every <br />month at 5:30p.m. at city hall in the council chambers. <br /> <br /> <br />
