RESOLUTION 925-001 <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RESOLUTION REVISING THE <br />CENTERVILLE 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />WHEREAS: The landowner of 1687 Westview Street authorized an application for rezoning the Subject <br />Parcel. This Parcel is currently regulated for zoning pursuant to Code Section 156.052, the Mixed -Use <br />Neighborhood (M-2). The application requests rezoning pursuant to Code Section 156.050 for use as <br />Public/Institutional District (P-1). <br />WHEREAS: On November 8, 2024, City Staff published a memorandum regarding Application for a <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezoning 1687 Westview Street (LaLonde Property). In this <br />memorandum, Staff recommended requested rezoning and amending the City Comprehensive Plan to <br />accommodate this request. <br />WHEREAS: On November 12, 2024, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on the <br />application of the landowner requesting the action herein; and did recommend that the City Council <br />grant the application of the landowner and amending the City Comprehensive Plan to accommodate this <br />recommendation. <br />WHEREAS: On December 12, 2024, the Metropolitan Council received the City's 1687 Westview <br />Street City Comprehensive Plan amendment. The amendment reguides 2.79 acres from Central Business <br />District/Mixed Use to Public/Semi-Public located at 1687 Westview Street. The purpose of the <br />amendment is to facilitate expansion of the adjacent Centennial School District property. <br />WHEREAS: On December 30, 2024, the Metropolitan Council staff found the amendment meets the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment Administrative Review Guidelines adopted by the Council on <br />November 30, 2022. The proposed amendment does not affect official forecasts or the City's ability to <br />accommodate its share of the region's affordable housing need. Therefore, the Council waived further <br />review and action.; and authorized the City to place this amendment into effect. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RESOVLES AND DIRECTS AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The 2040 Comprehensive Plan shall be amended in a manner consistent with the <br />recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />2. The amendment reguides 2.79 acres from Central Business District/Mixed Use to <br />Public/Semi-Public located at 1687 Westview Street. <br />3. The City Attorney and the City Zoning Administrator shall make the required revisions. <br />
