CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />January 22, 2025 <br />Engineering/Legal <br />VIII.4 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Brian Drive Storm Pond Project <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />Previously, the City Council reviewed a proposed project to lower the normal water level of a backyard <br />drainage pond at 6996 Brian Drive. The Council was presented with estimated project costs and an assessment <br />scenario. General consensus was to move forward with the project, pending review of permitting requirements <br />and engineering issues. Staff has now determined that no watershed permit will be necessary and has done the <br />necessary engineering due diligence, concluding that there are no adverse affects on downstream ponds. <br />Therefore, staff would like to move forward with the procurement of assessment waivers from the affected <br />property owners. If we are able to obtain waivers from those proposed for assessments, staff will bring a <br />contract for the work for approval at an upcoming meeting. If efforts to obtain waivers fail, staff will come <br />back to the city council for direction.
