CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: February 12, 2025 Engineering VIII.3 TITLE OF ISSUE: Res. #24-0XX Receiving the Feasibility Report, Ordering Plans and Calling for Public Hearing on 2025 Overlay BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: As we have done for the past decade or so, the city has completed projects to keep our streets well maintained. These "Thin Overlay" projects have been financed from the Street Fund and Special Assessments. The Street Fund is funded through an annual contribution from the General Fund Levy and an annual contribution from Franchise Fees (fees collected on gas and electric bills). Approximately 20% of project costs have been assessed to benefiting property owners, on each project. In order to assess these homes, a specific statutory process must be followed. Included in that process is a Feasibility Study (presented at this meeting) and a Public Improvement Hearing (this resolution sets the date/time for that hearing). See attached report and resolution for more information.
