CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #25-0XX <br /> <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br />CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CREATION OF A CITY <br />GRANT PROGRAM TO ADDRESS INFLOW AND INFILTRATION (I&I) ON <br />PRIVATE PROPERTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city of Centerville operates a sanitary sewer system which flows into the <br />metro-wide sewer system operated by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services <br />(MCES); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, excess clear water flow in the sanitary sewer system costs the city’s sewer <br />utility money and is a waste of MCES system capacity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 471.342, subdivision 3, allows the city to create a <br />grant and loan program to reduce inflow and infiltration to the sanitary sewer system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 471.342, subdivision 4 requires the city to hold a <br />public hearing on proposed guidelines for the program after a prescribed notice; and <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Centerville City Council hereby calls for a <br />public hearing to be held on March 12 at 6:30 PM or shortly thereafter to take input on the <br />proposed guidelines for a City Grant Program to Address Inflow and Infiltration to the <br />Sanitary Sewer System on Private Property and directs the city clerk to publish due notice <br />of said hearing. <br /> <br />Passed by the City Council of the City of Centerville on this 12th day of February 2025. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Mayor, Nancy Golden <br />Attest: <br />City Clerk, Teresa Bender <br />99 <br /> <br />
