CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: April 23, 2025 Administration V.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Local Board of Appeals & Equalization (LBAE) BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The City Council serves as the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization, and every year the city must hold a public hearing on the city assessor's classification and valuation for each property within our jurisdiction. The City's Assessor, Mary Wells will present her report. Mary will be joined by Erik Skogquist (commercial/industrial properties assessor), assessor Diane Stellmach (Senior Manager Commercial/Industrial), and a representative from Anoka County. Property owners received mailed notice of their proposed valuation and date of this hearing. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: This Board establishes the overall taxable value for the city. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to open the public hearing. Hear the presentation of the city's assessor. Take input from the public. Resolve any appeals, if possible; voting on each one individually. Motion to close the public hearing and adjourn the meeting of the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization. Read into the minutes any changes to individual parcels.
