Fiore Tree Update
The Committee discussed the various options for illumination (e.g., LED/colored - solar, etc.) other than the
received proposal which would include bringing electricity to the treeÓs location. They also
discussed/considered irrigation and whether there was a need for the cost, installing at a future time or the
ability of Public Works Staff providing the watering of the plants. proposed cost of irrigation, etc. The
Committee also discussed donors and grant submission. The grant submission deadline is May 31 with
potential awarding anticipated in August. Stay tuned.

Disc Golf Course
The committee discussed three options/costs for installation of the launch pads and baskets (e.g. Public
Works Staff, contracted services or forgoing the cement launch pads. The committee has had discussions
throughout the planning process with the Public Works Department which have included location, soils,
maintenance and staff availability/equipment. The committee has also reviewed the Community Priorities
listing from surveys throughout the year 2024, which contained requests for a course. The committee has
discussed with various residents and obtained their willingness to volunteer for installation, hold educational
sessions and a Grand Opening for the course. The Committee was unsuccessful in obtaining a SHIP grant
associated with the project as Anoka County felt that it did not meet the qualifications as it considered park
equipment. The Committee also views this amenity having the ability of providing low-key exercise
outdoors for teens, family and adults. The Committee motioned recommending to the Council the
installation of the Disc Golf Course utilizing the Public Works Staff to install the launch pads, equipment
and signage. The project would cost $9,259.04 to complete. The committee will present the project at an
upcoming Council meeting.

Annual Fete des Lacs Logo Contest Winners
The committee picked the winners for the contest.
