CITY OF CENTERVILLEREQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: May 30, 2025 Administration V.3 TITLE OF ISSUE: Pickleball Court Nets BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Chairperson Errickson-Grahek will be providing you with an update regarding researched nets, costs, thought process, etc. Three different types are contained in the packet for your review and Interim Public Works Director, Mr. Tedd Peterson will also be reviewing for best fit and use. The committee has discussed this item numerous times; considered surfaces, dividers, amount of courts, considered public input and even motioned in November, 2024 to install four courts (netting for all courts and surface for one court) in an amount not to exceed $20,000. With continued research and consideration of costs, it has been determined to install the courts with less expense and see how often they are utilized, take input from users and consider additional options if called for in the future. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $12,500 (Park Dedication Fees) REQUESTED ACTION: Recind the previous motion of $20,000 to install four pickleball courts and recommend to Council the purchase of three pickleball court nets and have the three courts striped in an amount not to exceed $12,500.
