CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: July 9, 2025 VII.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Brian Drive Pond BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Last year former Administrator Statz proposed a storm water utility project to council for discussion at a work session. The discussion focused on yards of four homes located at: 1922, 1932, 1940 Eagle Trail and 6996 Brian Drive. The council discussed a proposal to lower the pond. Former Administrator Statz recommended getting signed waivers from the property owners, so the assessment hearing could be waived. To date, only two of the property owners have signed waivers. The other two have not signed the waivers. The cost for lowering the pond was estimated to be and there would be an additional $5,000 for a feasibility report, should property owners be assessed. The Council directed staff to contact the resident to to advise if they are still interested in the project since there was not a consensus among the neighbors. The residents at 6996 Brian Dr. will be in attendance at the council meeting. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $45,000 project + ~ $5,000 engineering + administrative costs for public hearings, noticing, etc. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Provide staff direction on how to proceed.
