CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />September 24, 2025 <br />Administration <br />VII.2 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Amazon Noise Study Mitigation Plan <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The city has an $80,000 escrow from Amazon for implementation of noise mitigation measures, in the event <br />they are needed upon completion of a noise study conducted one year after the Amazon facility is fully <br />operational. The noise study concluded that the noise level is in compliance with the stated goals of the <br />development. Earlier this year, the council approved a mitigation plan that includes: planting of mature trees in <br />strategic locations and acoustical wrapping with a 6-foot fence along the west side of the site. The plan shows 8 <br />new 12Ó high trees planted where 4 original trees have died and 3 in the middle area. It looks like there is room <br />in the middle area for 7 5Ó trees to be replaced. Amazon has confirmed they will add 7 additional trees to the 19 <br />shown in the attached plan. The original option for the acoustical wrap and fence are no longer viable due to <br />cost.
