<br />AdministratorÓs Report <br /> <br />October 23, 2025 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Advisory Committee of Residents and <br />Stakeholders Guiding the Process scheduled for <br />th <br />October 29 at City Hall from 6PM-8PM. <br />Over the course of this next year, city staff, residents, and stakeholders will be collaborating with the U of <br />MN's Resilient Communities Project and Minnesota Design Center through the Empowering Small <br />Minnesota Communities (ESMC) program. The goal of the program is to help small Minnesota communities <br />identify opportunities to capitalize on their assets through infrastructure projects that support and enhance <br />community vitality, identity, and resilience. Funding for the partnership is provided by the Minnesota State <br />Legislature. <br /> <br />Statewide Elementary School Student Essay Contest <br />The League of Minnesota Cities is once again encouraging the <br />ththth <br />stateÓs 4, 5, and 6 graders to share ideas about how they <br />would make cities better through submitting essays in the <br />LeagueÓs ÐMayor for a DayÑ essay contest. <br /> <br />Contest information can be found at <br />www.lmc.org/mayorforaday. <br /> <br />Three winning students will be chosen from among submitted <br />entries. Each winning student will receive $100 and will have <br />their essay published in a future issue of Minnesota Cities <br />magazine. The submission deadline is December 12, and students and parents can submit essays via an <br />online form, which can be accessed here: Mayor for a Day Entry Form - League of Minnesota Cities, a pdf <br />email attachment. Or through the mail. Winners will be notified in early January. <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Improvements <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park has several new amenities, and weÓd <br />like to invite you to attend our grand reopening of the park on Saturday, <br />th <br />October 25 from 2PM-4PM. This event will feature Pickleball and <br />Disc Golf demonstrations. There will be a few giveaways and popcorn, <br />and water will be provided. This is an event that you will not want to <br />miss. Please come celebrate with us. <br />Improvements include: <br />An inclusive play structure <br /> 3 Pickleball Courts <br /> Beginner Disc Golf Course <br /> <br />*Special thanks to our Parks & Recreation Committee and Public <br />Works Department for shepherding these projects through the <br />implementation process.
