CITY OF CENTERVILLEREQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: November 5,2025 Administration V.1.b TITLE OF ISSUE: U of MN Empowering Small Minnesota Communities (ESMC) program Update BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The ESMC Advisory Committee met this week to review results from a community survey and an asset mapping event. During the meeting, members also explored various aspects of CentervilleÓs downtownÏ discussing where it is, who it serves, and how people recognize when they are there. In addition, the Committee identified opportunities and challenges across the broader community. The information gathered from engagement with city staff, residents, and committee members will help University of Minnesota staff better understand residentsÓ vision for Centerville before the City allocates future funding for infrastructure projects and other improvements. These insights will also inform the CityÓs upcoming Comprehensive Plan update. The next Advisory Committee meeting is planned for November, with the specific date to be scheduled next week.
