<br /> City of Centerville <br /> Parks & Recreation Meeting <br /> June 4, 2025 <br /> <br />1. None <br /> <br />V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Fiore Tree Grant Application <br /> <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek gave an update on the Hometown Grant. She stated the total <br />amount requested was $50,000 and that the application was due on June 20, 2025. Chairperson <br />Errickson-Grahek stated that if the enhancements of electricity, and irrigation were not purchased, <br />the tree would be $25,000. <br /> <br />2. Tree Plan <br /> <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that there was no new information regarding the plan and <br />that Committee Member Fuchs would be contacting nurseries to obtain pricing and availability of <br />varieties. <br /> <br />Committee Member Port stated that she had visited playgrounds in Hugo and Rochester where <br />both had trees near playgrounds. <br /> <br />A discussion ensued as to the placement of the trees, fall zones, the cost of the trees and <br />equipment. Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that they would be in contact with the Interim <br />Public Works Director to discuss placement. <br /> <br />3. Pickleball Court Nets <br /> <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that she had reviewed the pickleball net quotes of $1,800 <br />totaling $5,400 for three. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek to <br />rescind the committee’s previous motion regarding nets and not to exceed $12,000. <br /> <br /> A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the storage of the nets and amenities. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Chairperson Errickson-Grahek to <br />amend the cost not to exceed $10,000. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that they would need to discuss with Interim Public Works <br />Director Peterson regarding storage and drainage of the hockey rink. <br /> <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Fete des Lacs 5/8K Run & Paddle Event (update) <br /> <br /> Chairperson Errickson-Grahek introduced Ms. Nissa Larson.
