City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />May 7, 2025 <br />1.Request for Use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park –Anoka County Radio Club <br />The dates for this event areJune 27-29 and is a 24-hour eventfrom Friday Evening to Sunday <br />Afternoon. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to <br />recommend that the City Council approve the request from Anoka County Radio Club.All <br />in favor. Motion carried. <br />2.Request for Use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park – Centerville Elementary <br />Centerville Elementary School is requesting the use of LaMotte Park for a few hours of play and <br />to eat lunch. They are requesting the use of the bathrooms from 11:00 a.m. –2:30 p.m. on 5/28/25, <br />5/29/25, 5/30/25, 6/2/25, 6/3/25, and 6/5/25. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded byChairpersonErrickson-Grahek <br />to recommend that the City Council approve the request from CV Elementary.All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br />VII.APPROVAL OF MINUTES – NONE <br />VIII.ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1.Staff Updates – (Main Street Market) <br />There are 20 vendors to date, and Coordinator Angela Conley will be reaching out to past vendors <br />to assist in additional registrations.There will be 3 concession trucks for food. Egg Roll Queen <br />and Grey Duck will be at all markets. There are themes for each market. <br />2.Committee Member Updates – Cleanup Day & Music in the Park <br />Committee Members Peterson andFuchs participated in the Cleanup and provided an update. <br />Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with Cleanup Day. <br />Committee Member Peterson provided an update regarding Music in the Park, including scheduled <br />bands, contracts, and the length of the season. Still working on scheduling the bands. Licensed <br />dessert and treat vendors are being sought during Music in the Park. <br />3.Council Liaison Update <br />Councilmember Kubat provided an update.He reported on street resurfacing that is planned. <br />Applications for the City Administrator position are being reviewed by the Personnel Committee. <br />Repairs to the City Well and Sewer Lines are being researched. The irrigation system pump in <br />LaMotte Park has been approved for repair. He received a complaint from a resident about a <br />motorized go-kart vehicle on the Acorn Park Trail.This is an issue throughout Centerville. There <br />Page 4of 5 <br /> <br />37 <br /> <br />
