CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />April 16, 2026 <br />Administration/Finance <br />VI. <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />2026 Metropolitan Council Water Efficiency Grant Application <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />City staff would like to continue a rebate program with the Metropolitan Council for water efficiency. The goal <br />is to reduce annual water usage and sewer flows. The Met Council will cover 80% of the grant, and Centerville <br />will cover 20%. Staff proposes to apply for a $5,000 grant with a cap of $150 per parcel. The homeowner <br />would cover any costs in excess of $150.00. The grant is only for replacement, not new installation. The <br />application deadline is April 17th, with an implementation date of early July, 2026.
