CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: July 1, 2026 Public Works III.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: 2027 Trail Project BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: At their June 22, 2026 meeting, the City Council approved a p2027 trail project that would include many of the city's trails that are in "poor to very poor" and those with more favorable surfacing conditions in reference to anasphalt index rating scale. The city of Centerville has an extensive trail system that connects to Anoka County's regional trail system, and provides good connection to many neighborhoods and adjoining roadways. The proposed project (see exhibit A), includes trails to be reclaimed in full and those that require seal-coating and crack sealing. The proposed project will coincide with a mill and overlay project on the north side of town. The project is also being presented to the Met Council for consideration for an Active Transportation grant that would help offset construction costs. The trails on the project plan would most likely be closed for a duration of timeweather dependent for individual segments and corresponding road work.
