STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF CENTERVILLE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ESTABLISHING AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (EDA) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN , that the City Council of the City of Centerville will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 commencing at 6:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter. The public hearing will be to consider establishing an Economic Development Authority (EDA) pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 469. Following public testimony, the Council will consider adoption of a resolution that would establish the EDA. The resolution that would establish the EDA is summarized as follows: Section 1: Identifies the authority in Statute, Chapter 469 giving the power to establish an EDA, and states the purpose of the EDA to encourage and support development and redevelopment. Section 2. Establishes the EDA and states that the governing Board of the EDA shall consist of seven members, including the five members of the City Council and two citizen members appointed by the Council. Section 2 further outlines the authority of the EDA and the limits on their operation. Section 3. Provides for implementation of the EDA and gives the Mayor and other City Officials authority to execute documents to fully establish the EDA. Section 3 also provides for authority of the Council to modify the enabling resolution to amend or limit the authority of the EDA.
