City of Centerville Council Meeting Minutes October 11,2006 City Administrator Larson explained that the Public Works Director has requested paving at the public works site. Motion bv Council Member Terwav. seconded bv Council Member Lakso. to aDDfove the DaviDS! of the entrance area of the Dub.ic works for $13.550. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. IX. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDA TES 1. City Administrator, Mr. Dallas Larson City Administrator Larson indicated he received a request from a property owner on Mill Road for a sign saying slow children at play. Council Member Lee indicated he would like to park the speed trailer there and have the Police Department do some enforcement. Council Member Terway agreed and said that the signs can give a false sense of security. Mayor Capra suggested a caution pedestrian sign because there is heavy bike and walking traffic. City Administrator Larson indicated that the sign is mainly to appease the property owners to show that the City is concerned and is trying to do something. Council Member Paar indicated that the signs on Meadow Lane seem to be working though there are a few that still speed through there. Mayor Capra indicated that she would like to get the opinion of the Police Chief Council Member Lee indicated that he would like to see enforcement over the next month and to hear from more than one resident. City Administrator Larson reported that he and the Finance Director met with the School Board to discuss the Downtown Revitalization Project and there is a need for another forum to be able to provide further information on the project.
