City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 11, 2006 <br />City Administrator Larson reported that Block 7 has been cleared but there are still issues <br />to sort out on the intersection of Centerville Road and Main Street with the County. <br /> <br /> 4. Centerville Sesquicentennial <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated they would be starting the process very soon. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar asked for an update on 7124 Main Street. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson explained the circumstances and outlined the issues brought <br />up in the letter received from the residents at 7124 Main Street. He explained that Staff <br />will need to look into the street vacation issue raised in the letter. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar reported that Parks & Recreation met at LaMotte Park to review <br />the work that was being done and then went to 1601 LaMotte to brainstorm ideas for use <br />of the park. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that Parks would like to have a shelter and a pier with <br />benches. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that names are being discussed but they are leaning <br />toward something like Heritage Landing or Heritage Point. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated he would like to see a pier out into the lake at the Park. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that they went over to McBride Park and they would like <br />to combine to one big play area and get rid of some of the older equipment and add a <br />field for smaller kids that play football and add a full sized basketball court. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that for Acorn Park they are considering a youth football <br />field with lights. He then said that subcommittees were formed to work on Acorn Park, <br />McBride Park, and the new park at 1601 LaMotte. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway provided a Parks & Recreation Commission update for Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee provided an update on the Police Commission meeting noting that <br />administrative fines and the sex offender ordinance were discussed. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that the City of Circle Pines is opposed to the sex offender <br />ordinance so each Council will consider and decide whether to move forward with it. <br /> <br />th <br />Mayor Capra indicated that there was an email regarding a Level II offender off of 20 <br />Avenue in Lino Lakes and the sex offender ordinance would be for Level III. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked Staff to verify where the City’s funds would be going and what they <br />would be used for with regard to the Super Rink. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
