<br />I <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION GOALS AND POLICIES <br /> <br />It is the goal of the City of Centerville to: <br />· Provide convenient active and passive recreation opportunities to tbe residents <br />of CentervilJe. <br />· Establish a biking/hiking trail system connecting the City parks. <br />· Provide adequate expansion of parks and recreation areas m proposed <br />residential developments. <br />· Provide safe and convenient bicycle and pedestrian access to community <br />recreational facilities. <br />· Expand parks and recreation opportunities on the shores of Centerville and <br />Peltier Lakes. <br />. Provide recreational facilities and programs to serve the varied recreational <br />needs of all age groups in the City. <br /> <br />It is the policy of the City of CenterviIle to: <br />· Develop a trail access plan which provides interconnection of major park and <br />recreation areas and community neighborhoods. <br />. Design and maintain parks with proper lighting, shelter and landscaping to <br />ensure public and property safety. <br />. Develop land use regulations compatible with adjacent parks, recreation areas <br />and natural features. <br />. Require dedication of net developable park land or cash in lieu of land in <br />conjunction with the subdivision of all properties. <br />· Encourage and accept land gifts and forfeitures in areas with potential <br />recreational development opportunities. <br />· Coordinate regional trail development potential with Anoka County and <br />adjacent communities. <br /> <br />34 <br /> <br />I <br />
