The area is well suited for a trail. <br /> <br />2 Clearly Defined Goals for the Project <br /> <br />. Present a delineation of which user groups would benefit from the project and why they <br />would benefit. <br />. How would the local community(s) and/or public facility benefit? <br /> <br />Our goal is to allow the residents in the immediate communities of Centerville (population <br />3,202), Lino Lakes (population 17,380) and Hugo (population 7,195) easy access to a trail <br />system that would give them variety in distance and natural, scenic beauty. Individuals, families <br />and the communities at large would benefit from access to this community trail system. <br /> <br />Studies have shown that 70% oflandowners felt that overall, an adjacent trail was a good <br />"neighbor," with positive impacts including: <br /> <br />1) getting in touch with nature (64%), <br />2) recreational opportunity (53%), and <br />3) health benefits (24%). <br /> <br />Furthermore, 70% of real estate agents use trails as a selling feature when selling homes near <br />trails. And 80.5% of them feel trails make it easier to sell homes. In Minnesota, 87% of <br /> <br />7 <br />
