CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Capra called the November 29, 2006, Truth in Taxation meeting to order at
6:30 p.m.

II. PUBLIC HEARING

Truth in Taxation

Finance Director Meyer gave an overview of the 2007 budget, which he said reflected a
job very well done and showed a tax rate decrease by 10% over last year. He said
capacity had not grown faster than the tax rate and several residents had reported that
their property taxes decreased. Finance Director Meyer reported that the 2007 Budget
had not changed since September 13 and included $106,000 worth of additions for local
government aid, police administration, fire protection, parks and recreation, economic
development, City festival fund, and capital transfers. He stated that expenditures were
the same and most projected revenue would come from property taxes.

Council Member Lee inquired about the building inspection revenue.

Finance Director Meyer responded that it was within the market but said that he may
need to look at how people's time is prorated. He said he would speak with the inspector
to ensure correct allocations of time for building inspection and public works activities.

/
