<br />Council Member Capra suggested posting the event and holding an informal potluck type <br />gathering and holiday party. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated he would like Staff to suggest what they would like for a <br />holiday party. <br /> <br />8. Entrance Monument <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the information was in packets for informational <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated there is an issue as to whether the City owns the property or has an <br />easement for the property where the sign is to be located. Council Member Nelson <br />indicated she thought the City had an easement for the sign. Council Member Capra <br />indicated that power was run out to the sign location by County Bank. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that no easement was in place at this point and <br />recommended that the easement be obtained before the sign is installed. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated that the drawing did not include any brick work. Council Member <br />Capra indicated that Mr. Bode would provide the name of the brick layer that did the <br />bank. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated he would check into the easement issue. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if there were any gambling funds. Ms. Moore-Sykes <br />indicated that the City Clerk had not yet called but had pulled an expense sheet that <br />indicated there is approximately $18,155.00 in the account. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked whether there would be only one sign or if there would be others <br />in the future. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the m1work for the sign could be purchased for <br />$100.00. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated the City had planned for just the one entrance <br />monument. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated the City wanted to make a splash with the entrance in <br />the commercial area. She then commented that she feels the sign design better represents <br />the French Canadian heritage and she really likes it. <br /> <br />9. Public Works Mowing vs. Contractual Mowing (Update) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Public Works Director had provided an estimate for <br />the City to do its own mowing. <br /> <br />Page 20 of 25 <br />
