<br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated there is too much to replace to consider <br />updating the house. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis commented that the City needed to consider all the costs <br />associated with this property when offering it for sale and make sure that the City recoups <br />its funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she thought the value of the property <br />would increase when the City bought it and removed the buildings. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft told Council it needed to keep in mind that the City was attempting <br />to get an important piece of property for the City to redevelop and indicated that a profit <br />would be nice but may not be possible. He indicated that one of the costs involved with <br />obtaining and redeveloping the property may be a municipal subsidy to the developer to <br />make it happen. He further indicated that the City should keep track of costs but may not <br />see a specific profit outside of an improved look and more taxes. <br /> <br />Vote: Ayes - 4, Nays - 1 (Swedberg). Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Resignation of Chaymus Klang, Cable Operator/Letter of Interest <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that Chaymus Klang had notified the City of his intent to <br />resign. He then indicated that Mr. Klang attends the University of Minnesota and was <br />resigning because the meetings were lengthy and his school work was suffering. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated Council accepted his resignation with great regret and <br />thanked him for everything he has done for the City. <br /> <br />Chaymus Klang thanked Council for their kind words. <br /> <br />Council recommended accepting the offer of Kim Stephan to act as the City's cable <br />operator. <br /> <br />2. Holiday Party <br /> <br />Council Member Capra requested that Ms. Moore-Sykes confirm that a reservation for <br />the holiday party was made at Bunker Hills. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had researched the costs involved with the holiday <br />party at Kelly's and suggested that the City's money may be better spent by hosting a <br />cook out at City Hall to coincide with National Volunteer Day in April. <br /> <br />Page 18 of 23 <br />
