In the interim, the Council directed that I send a letter
requesting that the County change its policies to allow some additional permitted uses for
SCORE Funds.

We are aware that Ramsey County allows SCORE Funding to be used toward the extra
cost of purchase of recycled materials for public facilities, such as recycled planks for
picnic tables. Centerville would like to see Anoka County adopt a similar policy. It
might be reasonable to specify that a percentage, say 50% must be used for collection and
advocacy and that the other 50% can be used for recycled materials alternatives. We
believe that other communities would also welcome the change. Please let us know what
the process is for the SCORE policies. Thank you.

Yours truly,

Dallas Larson, Administrator

CC: Anoka County cities
County Commissioners
