<br />April 16,2001 <br />Fete des Lacs Festival Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. HUff stated that he would rent additional space out if it was available and attendance <br />is high. Chair De Vine stated that he needed to anticipate whether to bring in more <br />vendors due to the fact that last year that was one (1) of the complaints. Mr. Hurr <br />questioned the attendance of last years festival. Chair De Vine stated that approximately <br />3,000 to 5,000 but anticipating 10,000 with the softball tournament. Committee Member <br />Sweeney stated that several individuals looked for food vendors last year during the <br />dance and they had been closed down. Chair DeVine questioned the selling of bottled <br />water. Mr. HUff stated that usually one (1) of the trucks have it. Mr. HUff stated that <br />they usually have pallets worth on hand. Chair De Vine stated that he understood that <br />usually the food vendors and HUff Family Amusements have exclusive rights to varies <br />foods offered. Chair De Vine questioned whether there would be a problem with a local <br />civic group selling the same item, such as water. Mr. HUff explained that as long as they <br />are not right next to the food booths and prices are comparable, there would be no <br />problems. Chair DeVine questioned the appropriateness of another meeting. Mr. HUff <br />stated that in approximately a month they should meet again. <br /> <br />Committee Member De Vine stated that an additional item that needed to be kept in mind <br />was the craft show/business expo. and the anticipation of 80 participants. Committee <br />Member DeVine stated that last years problem consisted of the carnival taking more <br />space than allowed for. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Cordel stated that he felt that his organization could assist in eight (8) different <br />areas. Mr. Cordel stated that his organization could be set up from the line to the end of <br />the parade to monitor same via motorcycle and ATVs. Mr. Cordel stated that his <br />organization could have individuals stationed throughout the dance, baseball, 5K run, <br />fireworks, cleanup, operations, storing of money, parking, main entrances or <br />intersections. Chair DeVine questioned the items that Mr. Cordel would need from the <br />Committee. Mr. Cordel stated that he would need a listing of events and times, maps, the <br />possibility of a long signal, 20 amp, 110 outlet that is dedicated. Committee Member Peil <br />questioned the charge for the Anoka County Amateur Radio Operator's services. Mr. <br />Cordell stated that they are not allowed to charge fees, however, they will accept <br />donations or in the future the club may approach the City to secure antennas to the water <br />tower. Chair DeVine stated that the club's services sound really good and the Committee <br />will continue to forward information to the club. <br /> <br />III. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1. March 5, 2001 and March 19,2001 Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member DeVine, seconded by Committee Member Peil to <br />approve the March 5, 2001 and March 19, 2001 Fete des Lacs Committee meeting <br />minutes. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IV. SUB-COMMITTTE REPORTS <br /> <br />1. Parade <br /> <br />Chair De Vine stated that he needed to contact Committee Member Thill to discuss an <br />informational flyer to be contained in the sponsorship letter.
