City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 29, 2006 <br />Council Member Paar also reported on seeing Centerville businessman Mike Giovinazzo <br />spotlighted for American Family Insurance and having received the JD Power <br />Distinguished Insurance Award. He recommended that Council extend congratulations <br />to Mr. Giovinazzo from the City, frame the document, and prepare it for presentation at <br />the next Council meeting. It was Council consensus to do so. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso reported on the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) and <br />Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) joint meeting. She said the League is <br />doing strategic thinking about what it stands for, citing demographic change trends in <br />Minnesota. Council Member Lakso said Centerville was fortunate in not having a large <br />retirement-age population, which can provide problems for cities with regard to less <br />income and lower tax base.
