<br /> <br />City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> December 13, 2006 <br />review of Staff to make sure there aren’t any outside storage concerns. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> 6. Parks & Recreation Committee Recommendation for Allocation of $100,000 from <br />General Funds for Development of Park Improvements at 1601 LaMotte Drive <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she attended the Park & Recreation Committee meeting and <br />explained that they have asked Council for funding for development of park <br />improvements at 1601 LaMotte Drive. She then asked Staff if there will be any budget <br />surplus that could be used for funding the request. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson explained that there will not be much of a surplus but said that <br />there are some things that may be reimbursed that could be considered for funding the <br />park improvements. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso asked if charitable gambling dollars could be solicited. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that the Committee is looking at charitable gambling dollars. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar suggested using the public works building fund. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that there is money in reserve that could be <br />temporarily tapped into. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee asked for Staff to provide a better picture of the budget before any <br />decision on funding the park improvements is made. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson suggested a preliminary commitment from the Council and <br />said that the finance staff will spend some time looking at avenues for funding. <br /> <br />Council agreed to work with Staff on funding improvements to the park. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee asked the Committee to look into assistance from the Lions. <br /> <br /> 7. Appointment to Fill Vacancy on P & Z Commission <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that Council held interviews for three candidates for the vacancies <br />on the Planning Commission and Parks & Recreation Committee. She then thanked the <br />candidates for coming in to interview for the position. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Lee, to appoint <br />Mr. Ben Fehrenbacher to the Planning Commission and Mr. Darrin Mosher and <br />Ms. Lori Harris to the Parks & Recreation Committee. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Page 12 of 19 <br />
