Box 32955
Spring Lake Park, MN 55432

Dear Ms. Miller:

On behalf of the City of Centerville and the Parks & Recreation Committee we would like to thank you
for your past support of our park improvements. We are planning a renovation to Tracie McBride
Memorial Park in the spring of 2007. This park was the previous location of the Centerville Water
Tower which was removed in 2006. The play structure that is currently in place is old and has become
as safety hazard and will have to be removed this spring. The Parks & Recreation Committee is
looking at installing a basketball court, as well as a new play structure and picnic tables. The project
cost is approximately $75,000 and would include the purchase of equipment, base, border and labor for
installation. The committee would like to request $10,000 in charitable gambling funds from your
organization. While recognizing the limitations of your funding, any amount the Spring Lake Park
Lions could donate towards this purchase would be greatly appreciated. A staged financial
commitment over a period of time would also help the committee fund and budget expenses for this
project.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of the Parks & Recreation Committee's request. If you
have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me at City Hall, 651-429-3232.

Sincerely,

(~~~----,-

Mr. Dallas Larson
City Administrator
