Unauthorized absence <br />from work may be considered a resignation without notice and not in good standing. <br /> <br />6.9 Solicitation <br /> <br />General: Solicitation by Employees for any purpose is prohibited during the <br />working time of the Employee who is soliciting and the Employee being solicited. <br />This shall include canvassing, collection of funds, pledges, taking orders or <br />subscriptions, circulation of petitions, solicitation of memberships or any similar type <br />of activity. Exceptions may be made with prior approval of the City administrator or <br />designee. Distribution of literature by Employees including handbills, leaflets, <br />circulars or other similar material is prohibited at any time in any working area. <br /> <br />7. HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />7.1 General <br /> <br />Eligibility: Regular full-time Employees are eligible for the paid holidays as listed <br />below. Part -time, seasonal and temporary Employees will not be eligible for holiday <br />pay. <br /> <br />7.2 Holidays <br /> <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King's Birthday <br />President's Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veterans Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Fourth Friday <br />Christmas Day <br />Floating Holiday <br /> <br />January 1 <br />Third Monday in January <br />Third Monday in February <br />Last Monday in May <br />July 4 <br />First Monday in September <br />November 11 <br />Fourth Thursday in November <br />Friday after Thanksgiving <br />December 25 <br />Date to be pre-approved. <br /> <br />Sunday /Saturday Holidays: If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day will <br />be the observed holiday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding day will be <br />the observed holiday. . . <br /> <br />Floating Holiday: Each Employee gets one floating holiday per year and it may be <br />taken at the request of the Employee, with prior approval of the Employee's <br />supervisor. Floating holiday may be taken during the probationary period. An <br />unused floating holiday shall be forfeited and may not be carried over to the next <br />payroll year nor paid as severance. <br /> <br />7.3 Holiday Pay <br /> <br />Worked: An Employee required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of two <br />and one-half (2 V2) times the Employee's rate of pay. <br /> <br />90 <br />
