<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 13, iOOl <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg thanked Mr. McDonald for his presentation and asked that he work <br />with Staff in regards to this matter. <br /> <br />V. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Council Member Capra requested the following change: On Page 3 of 12 she asked that <br />Staff review the tape to determine her suggestion for sharing the responsibilities for <br />Ojibway Drive. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers requested the following change: On Page 7 of 12 <br />change her comment to indicate that she had said police and fire may have a comment <br />concerning closing off the road. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Travis to <br />a\lprove the May 23. 2001 Council Minutes as amended. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Downtown Revitalization <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that there was a meeting last night to discuss the downtown <br />revitalization project. <br /> <br />Mr. March indicated that the purpose of the meeting was to gather input in regards to the <br />project. He then indicated that there were thirteen (13) property owners in attendance; <br />eight (8) often (10) with property on Centerville Road were not in favor of having water <br />servIce. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether the City has a process for verifying the <br />signatures on a petition that is received. Mr. March indicated that the process is that the <br />clerk is required to measure and certify that 35% of the property owners for the scope of <br />the project have signed the petition. He then indicated that the clerk had indicated that <br />Staff had checked and 35% of the property owners had signed the petition. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned whether the requirement was 35% of the <br />number of lineal feet of the project. Mr. March indicated that the requirement is 35% of <br /> <br />Page 12 of25 <br />
