<br />May 9, 2001 Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that if the City signed the agreement then they <br />are bound to the agreement. Council Member Broussard Vickers suggested tabling this <br />item to allow further investigation. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis stated that installation of the road would allow approximately 80 <br />acres to be developed. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that Arcade Asphalt is operating under a <br />Special Use Permit until the road is installed. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg stated he would like staff to ensure that the road is built to handle the <br />heavy truck traffic it is proposed to have. Mr. Peterson indicated the road would be <br />constructed to ten (10) ton road specifications. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she would like the City of Lino Lakes to meet <br />Centerville's standards when reconstructing the street. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg expressed concern for traffic management in the area and questioned <br />whether traffic would be looked at as part of the process of reconstructing the street. <br />Mayor Swedberg stated that the City of Lino Lakes could allow only commercial <br />development in the area and that may cause congestion problems. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis stated that the City of Centerville could also allow commercial <br />development in the area, expanding its commercial base. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedbel1!. seconded by Council Member Nelson to table this item <br />for further investi2ation by Staff. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Parks and Recreation Candidate Recommendations (Ms. Kathy Peil & Mr. Tom <br />Lee) <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers explained that there were three (3) items on the list <br />of recommendations from the Parks and Recreation Committee. The Committee <br />requested that the first item be removed for consideration. The second item was to <br />consider placement of an ADA accessible satellite at Eagle Park. Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers stated that several complaints had been received and the satellite was <br />relocated. Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that the Committee is <br />recommending the appointment of Ms. Kathy Peil and Mr. Tom Lee. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedbere. seconded by Council Member Nelson to appoint Ms. <br />Kathy PeU and Mr. Tom Lee to the Parks and Recreation Committee.
