<br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />f <br /> <br />8 March 2001 <br /> <br />MEMO <br /> <br />To: <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg and City Council <br /> <br />Re: <br /> <br />Flammable Waste Trap and Water at Public Works <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Paul Palzer, Public Works Director/Building Official <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />This past month the floor drain at the public works building froze and upon thawing the <br />line it was discovered that the drain went directly into the Clear Water Creek. This <br />violates State law and a flammable waste and sand trap needs to be installed and the drain <br />connected to the sanitary sewer system. Along with this, the City should hook the <br />building up to City water with a six-inch water line for a future fire suppression system to <br />the building. <br /> <br />I have received an estimate from Ro-So Contracting and after discussing the project with <br />the City's+ Engineer, I believe the project should be bid out as an alternate to another city <br />project. <br /> <br />I would request that the Council approve the City Engineer to develop plans and <br />specifications for the project in conjunction with the next water or sewer project. <br />
