MEMO

DATE: January 5,2001

TO : Honorable Mayor and Council

FROM: Jim March

RE : Site plan for proposed office/retail center - Lloyd Drilling

............................................................................

A public hearing was held at the last Planning and Zoning Commission meeting in
regards to the proposed office/retail center to be constructed across from City Hall.
Several residents were in attendance to offer comments on this proposal.

One of the main concerns with the proposal was traffic management. Those that live on
Shad Avenue do not want an access on Shad Avenue. One gentleman present that lives
on Peterson Trail does not want to see an access only on Peterson Trail, but one also on
Shad Avenue.

Mr. Drilling explained a concept sketch of the proposed building that he presented to the
Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Drilling is willing to provide screening to buffer
the residential neighbors.

I will be in contact with Mr. Drilling to inform him that the material he has provided so
far is not adequate to complete a formal site review. There are items missing such as
detailed landscape plans and material descriptions that are necessary for review. I
anticipate that Mr. Drilling is attending the meeting primarily for Council direction on
how you would like the end product to be designed.
