<br />MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: January 5, 2001 <br /> <br />TO : Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> <br />FROM: Jim March <br /> <br />RE : Cost of Living Adjustment <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />At the beginning of each year, the Council has adjusted the payroll chart to reflect a cost <br />of living adjustment to the wage schedule. It appears that the average increase for area <br />communities in 2001 is 3%. Last year the adjustment was 2.6%. <br /> <br />A sampling of area communities is as follows: <br /> <br />Forest Lake - 3% <br />Circle Pines- budgeted 3%, but are going through job evaluations <br />Hugo - 4-~% <br />Blaine - 3-~% <br />Shoreview - 3% <br />Andover-3% <br />Rosemount - 3% <br />Spring Lake Park - 3 % <br />Anoka - 3% <br />Farmington - 3% <br />Lino Lakes - undecided <br />Columbia Heights - 3.5% <br /> <br />Included in your packet are several wage schedules that show how the wages are affected <br />based on various cost of living adjustments. The percentage change to the chart is shown <br />at the upper right of each page. <br />
