<br />Memorandum <br /> <br />To: <br />From: <br />Date: <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Centerville City Council members <br />Ray DeVine, Festival of the Lakes planning committee <br />8-4-00 <br />Next year <br /> <br />Please be advised that I would like to appear before the city council to <br />present a phone poll I conducted of last years Fete des Lacs committee <br />members. This phone poll reveals that a majority (not all) of those members <br />would be in favor of booking a carnival, even if it means changing the date <br />of the event. The reason for the phone poll was because our group was <br />structured somewhat informally last year, and I would prefer that the council <br />be involved in a decision this important. The phone poll was also necessary <br />because of time constraints, the carnival needs an answer on our plans for <br />next year by Thursday August 10, 2000. I have planned the Fete des Lacs <br />"wrap-up" meeting for August 17, 2000. <br /> <br />I am asking the City of Centerville City Council to acknowledge the phone <br />poll as a binding decision of the Fete des Lacs committee and allow Karla to <br />enter into a contract with the Carnival Company we so enjoyed this past <br />week. <br /> <br />I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration.
