Commission Budget Line Item Supporting Information Personnel · All salaries are based on the pay step system established by the Operations Committee and approved by the Cable Commission. · The Executive Director salary is divided between the two budgets. · The "Accrued vacation/sick/comp" is a new line item recommended by our accountant. This line item covers time owed to an employee upon resignation. Benefits · Health benefit reflects the approved increase from $341 per month to $389.75 per month per full-time employee. · Benefits for the Executive Director are divided between the two budgets. Office Expenses · Increased Phone/Internet line item to reflect costs of end user equipment for cable modems and the cost of maintaining a WEB site (Costs split between budgets) LeQal Expenses · Anticipation of increased costs due to competitive franchising and representation during telecommunications legislative process Other Administrative Costs · Equipment Fund Transfer S30,OOO This is a new line item. Discussion was had at the Joint Operations/Commission meeting regarding the creation of this line item. It was noted, at that time, that in order to reach the goals of purchasing a new truck and moving to the digital format, additional funds would be needed. While the group had generously donated excess reserves from the Commission budget to the Media Center in the past, those excess reserves will not exist in the future. It was suggested at that time, that a line item be created in the Commission budget for a grant to be put toward the equipment fund. With the creation of this line item, excess reserves in the future would continue to go back to the cities. It is worth considering that franchise fees will continue to increase, especially when high speed internet service is available.
