<br />200 I Budget <br /> <br />Resolution 00-18 - Approving Tax Rate Increase <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney. seconded by Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers to approve Resolution 00-18 approving the tax rate <br />increase if applicable. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber indicated the Council is not looking at a tax increase and would <br />like to state that for the record. Mr. March indicated the County has the power to <br />raise and lower market value and this Resolution is a precautionary measure only. <br /> <br />Resolution 00-19 - Approving Initial Tax Levy <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney. seconded by Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers to approve Resolution 00-19 approving the initial tax levy. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. March indicated he would like to set budget discussion meetings for non- <br />Council meeting Wednesdays. <br /> <br />A consensus was reached by the Council to set a budget discussion meeting for <br />October 4, 2000, at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />X. CONSENT AGENDA - None. <br /> <br />XI. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber noted there would be a Police Commission Meeting on <br />September 14,2000. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber asked to have the website updated if the Council was going to <br />be referring people to check it for information. Mr. March indicated the website <br />will be updated on September 14, 2000. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber recommended Council drive by and check out the new <br />landscaping at the entrance to the parks and said he is pleased with how it turned <br />out. <br /> <br />XII. ADMINISTRA TOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. March said he received a call from an attorney representing Sheehy <br />Properties and the attorney asked if the City would be interested in purchasing <br />approximately 15 acres of property. He said he was not sure of any assessments <br />and explained Joe Goetz was interested in purchasing the property for potential <br />industrial development. <br /> <br />Page 21 of22 <br />
