The police department completed the checks in May of 2000. The report from the Police <br />Department indicates that the above named establishment sold alcohol to an underage cooperating <br />individual during the compliance check. <br /> <br />M. S. Chapter 340A.415 provides that the commissioner of Public Safety or the liquor license issuing <br />authority may impose a civil penalty of not more than $2,000, or license suspension or revocation <br />against a liquor licensee for the sale of alcohol to a minor individual. The report from the Police <br />Department indicated no knowledge regarding a civil penalty being imposed by your city council <br />against the above named establishment for the underage violation. Based on that information, it our <br />understanding that no civil penalty has yet been imposed by your city council. If a civil penalty has <br />been imposed, we would greatly appreciate that infonnation as soon as possible. <br /> <br />The Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division strongly advises that local licensing officials handle <br />this civil penalty matter within their communities.
