<br />Mayor Wilharber stated that the Centennial Fire District Committee is in the process of <br />their year-end audit. Mayor Wilharber also stated that generators have been approved for <br />Centerville, Lino Lakes and Circle Pines included their generator in the initial station. <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that at least half of the funding for the new generators was <br />received from charitable gambling and the Cities paid the other half. Centennial Fire <br />District will be acquiring a Thermal Imaging Camera in the near future. The cost same is <br />$18,000 and the camera will be purchased by the Relief Association through charitable <br />gambling. <br /> <br />It was noted that the proposed county-wide radio system is expected to cost between $12 <br />and $14 million dollars to implement. - <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers reported that the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />has begun workshop sessions to discuss modifications to Ordinance #4 and proposed <br />Sign Ordinance. <br /> <br />XII. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that there was an article in the newsletter requesting applications from <br />residents interested in serving on the official Fete des Lacs Committee and five (5) <br />residents have responded. Mr. March stated that a total of seven (7) members are needed <br />to meeting Fete des Lacs by-law requirements and requested approval to extend the <br />deadline for applications until November 15,2000. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Sweeney. seconded by Council Member Travis to <br />extend the deadline to accept applications to serve on the Fete de Lacs Committee <br />until November 15. 2000. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated the appraisal of 7071 and 7073 Centerville Road has begun and the <br />appraiser would also begin the process for the church property and the agricultural <br />property owned by the church. Mr. March stated that the appraisal of the entire block has <br />been placed on hold until a specific plan in place for the block. The City may be required <br />to pay between $15,000 and $20,000 in relocations fees to individual property owners if <br />the City purchases the properties. Mr. March stated he would consult City Attorney, Jim <br />Hoeft in regards to avoiding additional costs associated with same. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that the City has a Certificate of Deposit (CD) coming due shortly, in <br />the amount of $200,000. Mr. March stated he will be meeting with representatives from <br />County Bank to determine whether it would be in the City's financial interest to renew <br />the CD with its current bank or invest same with County Bank. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that the ground breaking ceremony for County Bank would be <br />held on November 6, 2000 at 11 :00 a.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that the City would need to contact the Fire Chief regarding the <br />bonfire planned for October 28, 2000 due to the burning ban. <br /> <br />Page 7 of8 <br />
