<br />MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: April 7, 2000 <br /> <br />TO : Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> <br />FROM: Jim March <br /> <br />RE : Variance for LaMotte Store <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />Included in your packet is information on the variance request for a proposed front porch <br />addition to the old LaMotte Store located at 1695 Main Street. The variance is for a front <br />setback encroachment. The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing in <br />regards to this variance. There were two property owners in attendance that spoke in <br />favor of allowing the variance. The comments were favorable in regards to the <br />renovation of this building. The Planning and Zoning Commission passed a motion to <br />recommend to Council that the variance be granted. <br /> <br />With the revised version of Ordinance #4 and the proposed setbacks in the mixed use <br />district a variance of this nature would not be required in the future. <br />
