<br />Yard - A required open space on a lot which is unoccupied and unobstructed from the <br />ground upward, except as otherwise provided for herein. The measurement of a yard shall <br />be construed as the minimum horizontal distance between the lot line and the building line. <br /> <br />Yard, Front - A yard extending across the full width of the front lot between siqe lot lines <br />and extending from the abutting street right-of-way line to a depth required in the yard <br />regulations of the district in which such lot is located. On a corner lot the street address or <br />narrowest street dimension or the street shall be the front yard. <br /> <br />Yard, Rear - A yard extending along a side lot line between the front and rear yard lot line, <br />having a width as specified in the yard regulations for the district in which such lot is <br />located. <br /> <br />Yard, Side - A yard between the sideline of the lot and the nearest line of the building and <br />extending from the front yard to the rear yard. <br /> <br />Zoning District - An area or areas for which the regulations and requirements governing <br />use, lot and bulk of buildings and premises are uniform. <br /> <br />Section 015-030: General Regulations. <br /> <br />For clarity and consistency in the understanding and application of this Ordinance the <br />following shall apply: <br /> <br />Use of the masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter genders unless otherwise <br />specifically noted. <br /> <br />Grammatical use of references made in the singular shall include the plural and the <br />plural shall include the singular, unless such use or reference is otherwise specifically <br />stated. <br /> <br />Sentence construction or phraseology in the present tense, and similarly, references in the <br />future tense may include the present. <br /> <br />The word "shall" is used to mean mandatory, whereas the word "may" is permissive and <br />does not imply obligation. <br /> <br />The catchlines of the sections of this Ordinance are intended as mere catchwords to <br />indicate the content of the section, and shall not be deemed or taken to be titles of such <br />sections, nor be deemed to govern, limit, modify or in any manner affect the scope, <br />meaning or intent of the provisions of any sections. <br /> <br />Division 20: Scope and Interpretation <br /> <br />A.
