<br />yard and height requirements, unless specifically authorized in other <br />areas of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />B. Signs are prohibited within the public right-of-way or easements <br />except that the City Council may grant a Special Use Permit to locate <br />signs and decorations on or within the right-of-way for a specified <br />time. <br /> <br />C. Flashing signs, motion signs or similar devices shall be prohibited in <br />all districts, except approved traffic signal devices. <br /> <br />D. Interior illuminated signs are permitted in all districts except <br />Residential. All illuminated signs shall have a shielded light source. <br /> <br />E. Business signs shall not be painted, attached, or in any manner <br />affixed to trees, rocks or similar natural surfaces. No signs of any type <br />shall be painted directly on to the roof or the sides of a building. <br /> <br />F. Signs which interfere with the ability of vehicle operators or <br />pedestrians to see traffic signals, or which impede the vision of traffic <br />by vehicle operators or pedestrians are prohibited. <br /> <br />G. Wall signs must be mounted to the wall in a plane parallel to the wall <br />and not perpendicular or projecting from the wall. <br /> <br />H. Signs shall not project above the roofline of any structure without the <br />issuance of a Special Use Permit. <br /> <br />I. No sign shall physically obstruct any window, fire escape or opening <br />intended to provide entry or exit to any structure or building or public <br />way. <br /> <br />J. All signs and sign structures shall be properly maintained in a safe, <br />orderly condition at all times, including the replacement of defective <br />parts, cleaning and other items required for the maintenance of the <br />sign. Vegetation around, in front of, behind, and underneath the base <br />of ground signs for a distance of ten (10) feet shall be neatly <br />trimmed and free of weeds, and no rubbish or debris that would <br />constitute a fire or health hazard shall be permitted under or near the <br />sign. <br /> <br />K. No signs may be placed on utility poles in the community. <br /> <br />L. There may be no more than one identical sign per lot in a residentially <br />zoned area. <br /> <br />Page 32 of 65 <br />
