P~(651)429-8629 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-002 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE ANOn COUNTY MULTI- <br />JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The State of Minnesota bas ordained that every county and incorporated <br />municipality in the State is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by the <br />Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, to maintaio <br />eligibility for State disaster assistance after November 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) under the <br />Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 has ordained that every county and incorporated <br />municipality within the County is required to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by <br />FEMA in order to be eligible for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Funding for <br />Presidential disasters declared after November 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency (FEMA) has issued an Interim Final Rule that details the minimum <br />criteria for local hazard mitigation plans; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville agrees with the concept of and neceSsity for hazard <br />mitigation planning; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Anoka County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee recommends <br />the adoption of the Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency <br />Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have conducted a review <br />of and approved the Anoka County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Anoka County Board of Commissioners formally adopted the Anoka <br />County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan on November 28, 2006. <br /> <br />NOW TIIERD'ORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCll. OF' <br />CENTERVD.I.E, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA, hereby adopts the Anoka <br />County Multi Jurisdictional Hazard M"ttigl1tion Plan as submitted this 14111 day of <br />February, 2007. <br />
