Engineer: Plowe, Lino Lakes
Submittal: Plans, Drainage Calculations
Plan Sheets: Grading and Drainage, Preliminary Details
Date of Plans: 11-27 -06
Date Received: 11-30-06

Summary of Recommendations
The approximately 7.4 acre development site with one existing home is located east of Clear Water Creek
along Old Mill Road in Centerville. The reconstructed area of Old Mill Road and a portion of the site in the
north west quadrant are proposed to drain to an infiltration basin which drains to the existing wetland west
of the site. The remainder of the site is proposed to drain directly to the wetland.

Based on our review of the Hanzal development, we offer the following comments. Some of the
recommendations were discussed in a telephone conversation on 12-01-06.

1. Storm sewer calculations should be included with future submittals
2. Grading around the baffle weir should be adjusted to prevent flow around the weir. Clarification
of the baffle weir detail is necessary.
3. Although not required, a small infiltration basin or other BMP is recommended adjacent to the
wetland mitigation area west of lot 3 to treat the impervious areas from lots 3 and 4 before
entering the wetland.
4. The infiltration basin is sized to adequately treat the runoff from the 1" event from the impervious
surfaces from Old Mill Road which meets City and MPCA NPDES requirements. It was
assumed that roughly 710 feet of Old Mill Road from the south end of the Hanzel property and
including the parcel north of the Hanzel property with an urban section 36 feet wide would be
routed to the infiltration basin.
5. Soil borings should be included in future submittals.
Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates, Inc.

www.bonestroo.com

51.
