- 2 -

This is a self-created hardship, by the actions of the property owner. His
actions of subdividing his existing parcel of land, creates the hardship. If this
can't be defined as a self-created hardship, then ask yourself what would be a
self-created hardship? In the future, would you be able to recognize a self-
created hardship?

All members of the P&Z were required to state their personal/business
association with the Hanzal's, except Chairperson Hanson. This is especially
hard to understand, since Mr. Hanzal has done substantial amounts of work on
Mr. Hanson's private residence, not only in the past, but more importantly, less
than a week after P&Z voted to approve the requested variance, Mr. Hanzal
(and his crew) were in the midst of remodeling Chairperson Brian Hanson's
personal residence. There are very real concerns regarding the appearance of
impropriety. If you were in our (neighbors) shoes looking at things from our
perspective, I think you too would be concerned about getting a fair "shake"
during this process.

We truly are only asking that the Hanzal's be required to adhere to the same
setback ordinance we followed when we built our homes.

Note: We have not heard from one resident in favor of this variance.

My hope and trust is in you to do what's best for all parties involved.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider the above-mentioned
concerns. Thank you for serving our community.

Sinc~re.IY, /
./ " - W
.7Jf.&JJ .'l)~afo;J/L
Ladlne Krueger ,'7-
