I THEN PULLED TO TH~ NORTH END OF THE <br />;>A TH AND ASSESSED THE POSSISILlTY OF ~ULLlNG ONTO THE GRASS TO TURN AROUND. I BELIEVED THIS WOULD <br />;ZE:SUL T IN TIRE TRACKS IN THE GRASS AND I DECIDEO TO AGAIN ATTEMPT TO R~VERSE SOUTHBOUND OUT OF THE <br />'ARK. THE RESULT WAS THE SAME, AND UF'ON REACHING THE AREA OF TH~ WATER TOWER MY PATROL VEHICLE <br />;UD OFF THE PATH TO THE W~ST AND CAME VER.Y CLOSE TO THE SUPPORT LEGS OF THE WATER TOWER. <br />~T THIS TIME IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BACK DOWN TH5 PATH AND WOULD HAVE TO PULL <br />)NTO THE GRASS TO TURN AROUND AND DRIVE FORWARD ~ASTTHE TROUBLE SPOT. I THEN PULLED ONTO THE <br />3RASS AND STOPPED TO REVERSE AND PULL FORWARD IN A SOUTHBOUND DIR5CTION. WHEN r STOPPED THE <br />fEHICLE TIRES SUNK INTO THE SOFT GRASS AND MUD.! WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE PATROL VEHICLE OUT OF THE <br />~RASS. i CONTACTED CHIEF HECKMAN AND INFORMED HIM I WAS STUCK IN MCBRIDE PARK AND WOULD REQUIRE <br />I. TOW TRUCK TO GET OUT. I THEN ORDERED A AUTO-MEDICS TOW FROM DISPATCH. <br />~UTO"MEDICS TOW A~R!VED AND I INFORMED 'THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND POINTED OUT <br />iHE SPOT WHERE I COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE PAS! WITHOUT IT SLIDING OFF THE PATH. THE TOW DRIVER <br />>.SSESSED THE SITUATION AND INFORMED ME TH.AT HIS TOW TRUCK IS A4-WEEL DRIVE WITH DUEL TIRES IN THE <br />~EAR AND WOULD SEABLE TO EASILY i~ACK TO MY PAIROL VEHICLE AND PULL IT OUT. THE TOW DRIVE DID TELL <br />{IE THAT HE PUT HIS TRUCK IN 4-WHEEL DRfVE JUST TO BE SAFE. <br />rHE TOW DRIVER THEN BACKED NORTH ON THE PATH AND WINCED MY PATROL VEHICL.E BACK ONTO THE PAVED <br />~ATH. IHE 'ToW bRiVi:R ADViSED fHAT HE WOULD TOW MY VEHICLE ALi. THE WAY TO THE STREET SO i \NOULD <br />~OT ~'EPEATTHl:. SAME PR08LEM THA"j RESULTED IN THE CURRENT SITUATION. AS THE TOW TRUCK REACHED <br />iHE POINT WHERE I WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS UNDER THE WATER TOWER IT ALSO SLID TO THE WEST ANO <br />)FF THE PATH. THE TOW TRUCK THEN BECAME STUCK IN THE SOFT MUD NEXT TO THE PAVED DRIVE. THE TOW <br />JRIVER UNHOOKED MY PATROL VEHICLE AND SPENT APPROX!MATEL Y A HALF HOUR GE;rTING THE TOW TRUCK <br />JNSiUCK. A LOCAL RESIDENT ASSISTED THE TOW DRIVER BY ~ROVIDING 4x4 WOOD BEAMS AND A FLOOR JACK. <br />)NCE THE TOW TRUCK WAS UNSTUCK THE DRIVER CL~RED THE PATH OF SNOW AND I WAS ABLE TO <br />:;UCCESSFULLY BACK SOUTHBOUND D<JWN THE PATH WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. PATROl. VEHICLE CI.-4IS <br />~QUIPPED WITH SNOW TIRES ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. <br />rHERE WAS NO APPARl:.NT DAMAGE TO THE PATROL VEHICLE. THE F{IGHT REAR TIR.E WAS LOW ON AIR AFTER THE <br />NCIDl:NT. I REFILL!;D THE TIRE WITH AIR AND IT APPEARED TO HOI.D THE AIR. I ADViSED THe NEXT SHIFT OF THE <br />-1~E AND TO CHECK IT. i WA.S ADVISED AT THE TIME OFTHIS REPORT THA'T THE TIRE WAS FLAT AS THE SEAL HAD <br />3EEN 6ROK~N DURING THE INCIDENT.
