tervi((e

'EstaiJ{islied 1857

MEMORANDUM

DATE:

February 25,2003

TO:

Park and Recreation Committee

FROM:

Kim Moore-Sykes, City Administrator

RE:

Updates

.........................................................................

Park Maintenance Priority Schedule. Attached is a memo and maintenance schedule that
was included in the February 26th Council agenda packet.

Summer Program Coordinator Recommendation. This recommendation from your
committee was not passed onto the City Council at their Feb. 26th Council meeting
because the Council will be interested in having more information than what was
provided. For instance, some questions they would be interested in having answers for
would be: what programming is the Park and Rec Committee interested in doing this
year; are there any programs that we can share with other organizations, i.e. Wargo, Lino
Lakes, etc.; and is there is a demonstrated need for a summer program coordinator?
What duties do you envision this position performing, where would the money for the
salary of this intern come from in your budget? Obviously, some of these questions
require more information to answer and Staff would be available during the day to assist
in any way that we can.

Trail Signs. I have phoned Jane Pemble regarding placing trail signs at the intersection of
Centerville Road and the trail near Wilharbers and left a message. It may be that the City
will have to settle for placing signs on the side oftrails. I also called Doug Fisher and he
is out for the week. I also left a message with him as well.
